MBL rose to the challenge of this unique project in which the client wished for a penthouse suite to be built on top of an existing building.
To make the project structurally sound, the MBL team needed to break out an existing roof slab and construct a new steel and timber floor & roof. This was followed by the construction of a modern penthouse and accompanying roof terrace.
We dealt with the unique challenges of working at high level, above an occupied building. This involved organising logistics such as site material deliveries, storage and road closures for crane access to lift steels into position. A dedicated community liaison officer coordinated with residents and neighbours.
