MBL Completes Restoration of Historic Georgian Property in North London

Michael Brady Ltd (MBL) has successfully completed a magnificent restoration project at a historic Georgian property in North London. Throughout the project, the team exercised exceptional care and attention to detail, ensuring the preservation and restoration of the property's original period features.
 

One of the property's standout features is the large floor-to-ceiling windows, which MBL skillfully reinstated to their former glory. Additionally, the original lath and plaster, as well as the skirtings, doors, windows, and decorative cornices, were meticulously restored by our expert team.

The building, which holds deep historical significance as the former residence of Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, the founder of modern Singapore, was separated into four apartments in recent years. However, our client had a grand vision for the property, and we were entrusted with the task of consolidating all 4 apartments into one large family home.

Our experience working with listed buildings meant it was second nature for us to preserve and restore the property's original features. With dedication and expertise, we successfully retained the Georgian charm and architectural elegance while introducing modern amenities, including a swimming pool, and 4 bedrooms, ensuring a perfect blend of the past and present.
